The distinctive design of the Stormtrooper was originally created by concept
artist Ralph McQuarrie in 1975. McQuarrie designed several versions of the look
of the Empire's general infantry.
During pre-production of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope,
several versions of the Stormtrooper helmet were prototyped for George Lucas to
review. The various elements that George liked from each version were
incorporated into the final, menacing form we know today. As the original helmet
was hand sculpted, it was asymmetrical in geometry and had the infamous "sty"
beneath the right eye.
Approximately 60 helmets were simply made from vacuum formed polyethylene and
painted white for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. A number
of these helmets were modified for use in Star Wars: Episode V The
Empire Strikes Back, and additional helmets were later made for Star
Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
To ensure that your Master Replicas Stormtrooper helmet retained all of the
subtle nuances of the hand-sculpted original, our engineers digitally scanned
and cast a surviving original helmet to recreate this iconic piece for your
Star Wars replica collection.
We hope that you enjoy this addition to our ever expanding line of incredible
Star Wars helmet replicas.
